DDC #17 "Summer Time"

Good Monday Morning! I hope you all had a great week last week and an even better weekend!

This week our Challenge is "Summer time" get those Digi Darla images out and start creating!!

Here is what I came up with this week, I love BOTH these summer images and just had to color them both up and create a card for each one!

My first one is "DD's Beach Scene Kids"

I colored the image with prisma color pencils, Chalked the sky, added some stickles to the sand and the water. Added a couple bling stickers (sand-castle, beach ball, and umbrella) I mounted the image on

tie-dye fabric, and the base is Coredinations that I embossed with a cuddlebug border folder. Then I added the prima flower and the BEACH word and some Gem stone bling!

My next card is "DD's Summer Block"

Colored with Prisma color pencils, mounted on embossed card stock,and then on card stock with Sea Shells, both were distressed and inked, then the lace was misted with Bubble Green glimmer mist, and I added a homemade rose flower I made and then some pearl bling!

DDC# 16 "How do you LAYER up?"

Good Monday morning! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend!

The weather was beautiful here in VA, and for Father's Day I did a big BBQ for

my hubby and step dad.

This week at Digi Darla's we are sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads!

They are offering up a $10 voucher to their store!

Our challenge Theme is: "How do you LAYER up?" We want to

see those layers! So get out your scraps and get to layering!!

Here is what I came up with:

I started with light purple card stock and did a gate fold card, then on the "gates" I cut dark purple card stock, and then on top of that I used some design paper...So that is my first few "LAYERS".

Then with my image I chose a new release Digi Darla Birthday Cake 202, love those "LAYERS" too!

I colored it up with prismacolor pencils, then chalked the edges with pink shimmer chalk. Then I mounted the image on lilac glitter card stock, and then put that on a floral peice of cloth that I stitched at the bottom and then put that all on one more "LAYER" of design paper from my stash! So with the Layered Cake Digi, and all the layers of the cardstock, I think I have got a "LAYER" thing going on!!! What do you think??

DDC #15 "Celebrate Dad"

Good Monday Morning!

 Glad you are back for another week at Digi Darla Challenge Blog! This week we are "Celebrating Dad" (or another special man in your life) its a perfect week to get those Dad cards done since Fathers Day is this coming Sunday!

This week we are sponsored by Floppy Latte Designs and this is the image that they offer me to work with, I printed it, and then chalked it up with glimmer chalk except where the sentiment is in the middle.  The I too some Spots N Dots Coredinations paper and sanded it, took some floss and wrapped that and then added my image with some brass eyelets... Then on the corners I added some cream colored pearls!

DDC #14 "Tic Tac Toe"

Good Monday Morning! I hope you all had a WONDERFUL weekend!

After the storms we had Friday late afternoon, we had a major clean up at my house Saturday.

The wind was so strong that it took down a Bradford Pear tree in our front yard, (was a great shade tree) So hubby got some help from our son and a cousin to help clean it all up....

So that was our weekend....

Now on to this weeks Challenge at Digi Darla's

I created this TicTacToe challenge for us to try!

You need to select 3 elements in a row, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally!

I went a little over board and selected a few rows! The card was just flowing together

 and I was along for the ride!

I chose Digi Darla's Spring Swing for this card.

I colored it with Prisma colored pencils and then I chalked the

sky blue, then I stitched the border. I then took some paper lace doilies and spritzed them with Glimmer Mist, one is Marigold and the other color is Bubble Light Green. The mat I used is embossed with my cuddlebug and then I spritzed it with the glimmer mist- candy corn. My sentiment is a die cut from Spellbinders, and I stamped the Thank You with Splash Metallics-bayshores Teal ink and ink the edge with it too. I added the ribbon and some paper tape and a rose flower I made with my McGill Punch set. So I got all the elements but 2 (buttons and gems) 

Now you only need to do 1 row not all of them, this is just how my card worked this time!
